We take some time to talk to Dr. Ryan Ribeira who is the outgoing chair of the SSH Corporate Round Table. What is the corporate round table, first off, there are no knights involved. Sad right? What the corporate round table is, is a place where vendors can interact with SSH, and have a two-way dialog about what the future of healthcare looks like, and what are the needs of all of us are in the future. It’s our voice to vendors, and vendors' toys, through the society. Dr. Ribeira also talks about the importance of networking, SimVentors Showcase@ IMSH, what is was like to found Sim X and much more. So take a listen to a great guy, and enjoy.

What she is mainly here to talk about is the difficult topic of End of Life situations and how to do a simulation to educate and prepare providers for this eventual situation we all go through. She has experience with both the situation and running simulations so we are so glad she was able to come in and talk with us. Give it a listen and let us know what you think with comments both here and on any of our social media profiles.

That you should definitely be listening to! At the time of the recording, Dr. Okuda was just days away from taking his term of office as the President of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). We had another topic ready to talk about but thought it was more timely o talk about his hopes and plans for the upcoming year. That just means he will have to come back for the original episode we planned for him!
Thank you for all your support.
Sincerely,
Will & David

Ep 19:The Evolution of the ”Sim Tech” w/ Matthew Charnetski
Monday Oct 04, 2021
Monday Oct 04, 2021
This episode is one that I have wanted to do for a long time and Will was initially against it. So here is the disclaimer, if you are mad, it's David's Fault. We realize that there are a bunch of different names of our lovely fans out there, but there has been a huge argument in terminology. Even the day we recorded this episode, Dr. Scott Crawford let me know the reasons and the history of the name HSTS "Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialist" and the story is fascinating! But we will leave that for a future episode. When I started in Simulation, and for the first 8.5 years I was officially a "Simtech". So when any other term was thrown at me it was so foreign. I have come to terms with the difference and invited a good friend Matthew Charnetski to chat with us about the topic. We filmed this at SimOps 2021 in Phillip Wortham's office, thank you Phil. We have been wanting to get Matt on for an episode because we knew it would be a great time. We were not disappointed, he will be back. So sit back and take a listen, let us know what you think. Love it, hate it, don't understand it, either way, give us a comment and let us know what you think. -David
