Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Episode 23 has another great guest Jared Kutzin on the podcast.
We were fortunate enough to travel to SimOps 2021 in Tampa, FL where I was able to take a class on Educational Fundamentals & Concepts from Jared and instantly knew we needed to interview him. In this episode, we go over a few of these and understand why everyone needs a basic understanding of them in our industry.
Take a listen, you will be glad you did!

Wednesday Feb 02, 2022
Wednesday Feb 02, 2022
Recorded LIVE onsite with masks on, at IMSH 2022 in Los Angeles, CA
We were honored to get time to sit down and talk with Dr. Haru Okuda. D. Okuda is an Emergency Medicine Physician, the Executive Director of USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Development (CAMLS) Simulation Center.
He also hosts his own podcast:
https://health.usf.edu/ipep/podcast
That you should definitely be listening to! At the time of the recording, Dr. Okuda was just days away from taking his term of office as the President of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). We had another topic ready to talk about but thought it was more timely o talk about his hopes and plans for the upcoming year. That just means he will have to come back for the original episode we planned for him!
Thank you for all your support.
Sincerely,
Will & David

Ep 19:The Evolution of the ”Sim Tech” w/ Matthew Charnetski
Monday Oct 04, 2021
Monday Oct 04, 2021
This episode is one that I have wanted to do for a long time and Will was initially against it. So here is the disclaimer, if you are mad, it's David's Fault. We realize that there are a bunch of different names of our lovely fans out there, but there has been a huge argument in terminology. Even the day we recorded this episode, Dr. Scott Crawford let me know the reasons and the history of the name HSTS "Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialist" and the story is fascinating! But we will leave that for a future episode. When I started in Simulation, and for the first 8.5 years I was officially a "Simtech". So when any other term was thrown at me it was so foreign. I have come to terms with the difference and invited a good friend Matthew Charnetski to chat with us about the topic. We filmed this at SimOps 2021 in Phillip Wortham's office, thank you Phil. We have been wanting to get Matt on for an episode because we knew it would be a great time. We were not disappointed, he will be back. So sit back and take a listen, let us know what you think. Love it, hate it, don't understand it, either way, give us a comment and let us know what you think. -David

Ep. 18 - Sim Center Accreditation W/ Phillip Wortham
Tuesday Sep 21, 2021
Tuesday Sep 21, 2021
In this episode, we welcome back our very first guest, Phillip Wortham to the podcast. This episode was recorded live and in-person from SimOps 2021 in Phil's office! We were at the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation, or CALMS for short, in beautiful Tampa, FL. It was the very first time your two hosts have been able to record an episode together. We shot video for the episode, and it's posted on our YouTube channel, but the main camera's video file corrupted. Instead of seeing us, you get the benefit of seeing some great video of the facility, and SimOps 2021, and the wonderful vendors. I obviously have a lot more to learn about recording video. The light behind the vendors was murder on the white balance!
Mr. Wortham is among other things a site reviewer for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare's sim center accreditation program. Accreditation is something many simulation centers aspire to achieve but it's a daunting task. Sometimes it is such a large task that some centers do not follow through, or do not even know where to begin. Here as the SimGeek's Podcast, we focus on taking those things that seem hard to do and show you have to approach them. From there We give you resources to follow through, and that is what we do in this episode. So kick back and listen to us talk about accreditation with Phil. It's not that difficult, let's show you.
For further information on Accreditation go to: https://www.ssih.org/Credentialing/Accreditation
Remmeber, if you like the podcast, follow, like, and leave us some comments and even a review if you want to. Don't forget to follow the YouTube Channel at: https://www.youtube.com/c/simgeekspodcast

IMSH 2021is here and its FREE!!!
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
You read that correctly! IMSH is free to all SSH members who do not require CEUs and its only $250 for members who are looking for an inexpensive way to build up their education hours.
Not a member? No problem, there are two options for registering that include an annual membership at a discounted rate so its $150 for membership and conference registration if you don't need the hours and $400 if you need the certificates to prove you attended!
There's a bit more information in this super short 7-ish minute announcement so fire it up and listen to this one while stuck in line at the coffee shop.
